- Find out the social media policies for your school or district and READ THEM!
- Watch the video from Erik Qualmann, “Socialnomics 2017,” and reflect on the staggering statistics.
- Create a PLN of people and organizations: blogs, Twitter, G+, Voxer, Pinterest. Find what works for you. (Learn how and why with this short and sweet video from Common Sense Media.
- Research the power of a hashtag. Go to Twitter.com (even without an account) and search for #edchat or #edtech to see what’s being shared and discussed.
- Search this database of hashtags and chats to find the area that interests you. (And add your own hashtags and chats to the database by using the form on the page!)
- Participate in a Twitter chat. There are hundreds to choose from! Check the database for topics and times.
- Join #EduMatch to connect with like-minded educators.
- Create your own hashtag for your class or your school.
- Google yourself regularly (and have students Google themselves).
- Set up Google Alerts to monitor a topic of interest.
